When a gas station lists their price on the giant billboard price deal, that should be the real price. But ARCO AM/PM lists their stupid price which happens to be “cash only.” When you use your debit card there is a 45 cent charge. When you use your credit, they add on 6 cents a gallon. So basically they are lying. In the very least, they are misleading. Who carries cash anymore? Which leads me to my next point.
I think that we should be a cashless society. It is outdated. It costs money to print money. Coins are ridiculous. Only criminals and shady dudes want “cash only.” Also, it would eliminate begging for change on street corners. I tell them, “Sorry, I only use my card. I dont carry cash.” I really do.
Beggars aren’t even good at it anymore. There were three beatniks standing in front of Joann’s Fabric the other night when I went there with my wife. They just looked confused, like they even THEY knew they didn’t deserve any money or attention. One of them had a guitar, but wasn’t playing it. He was just standing there with a guitar around his neck, silent. They didn’t even ask for change. They were just standing there looking lazy and dirty. But the lady behind me gave them change. AND SHE HAD TO ASK IF THEY WANTED MONEY!!! Holy crap.
